Step 1
Power down your Motorola Moto G4 smartphone.
Step 2 (Moto G4 Rear Cover and SIM Card Trays)
Use the plastic triangle opening tool, or your fingernails, to work around the Moto G4 rear cover and release the plastic clips securing it in place.
Remove both Nano SIM card trays.
Step 3 (Moto G4 Midframe)
Remove the following 19 T4 Torx screws.
Using the tweezers, remove the plastic cover and then detach the laser autofocus and dual-LED flash flex cable from the Moto G4 motherboard.
Easily remove the G4 midframe.
Step 4 (Moto G4 Laser Autofocus and Dual-LED Flash Cable)
Carefully pry up and remove the Moto G4 laser autofocus and dual-LED flash flex cable from the midframe.
Step 5 (Moto G4 Battery)
Peel up the piece of Kapton tape.
Disconnect the battery cable from the Moto G4 motherboard.
Carefully peel up the black tape.
Pry up and remove the Moto G4 lithium-ion 3000 milliampere-hour (mAh) battery.
Step 6 (Moto G4 Motherboard)
Use the fine tip curved tweezers to disconnect the bevy of cables from the motherboard.
Remove the following 2 T4 Torx screws.
With the cables detached, and screws removed, use the spudger to pry up and remove the Moto G4 motherboard.
Step 7 (Moto G4 Rear-Facing Camera and Front-Facing Camera)
Peel up the Kapton tape and release the ZIF connector.
Remove the 5 MP, auto-HDR Moto G4 front-facing camera from the motherboard.
Again, peel up the Kapton tape and release the ZIF connector.
Remove the 13 MP, auto-HDR Moto G4 rear-facing camera.
Step 8 (Moto G4 Vibrator, Headphone Jack, and Earpiece Speaker)
Remove the Moto G4 vibrator from the chassis.
Use the tweezers to carefully pry up and remove the headphone jack.
Remove the Moto G4 earpiece speaker.
Step 9 (Moto G4 LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly)
Use the heat gun to warm up the adhesive securing the Moto G4 LCD screen and digitizer assembly to the frame.
With the precision knife, carefully create separation and insert a playing card to start slicing through the adhesive.
Take your time and apply additional heat as needed.
Once you have sliced through the adhesive, be mindful of the ribbon cable and fingerprint sensor when decoupling the Moto G4 display assembly from the frame.
* To reassemble your device, follow the steps in reverse order.
