Step 1

Power down your Motorola Moto G4 smartphone.
 
Step 2 (Moto G4 Rear Cover and SIM Card Trays)
 
Use the plastic triangle opening tool, or your fingernails, to work around the Moto G4 rear cover and release the plastic clips securing it in place.
 
Remove both Nano SIM card trays.
 
Step 3 (Moto G4 Midframe)
 
Remove the following 19 T4 Torx screws.
 
Use the tweezers to remove the plastic cover and detach the laser autofocus and dual-LED flash flex cable from the Moto G4 motherboard.
 
Easily remove the G4 midframe.
 
Step 4 (Moto G4 Battery)
 
Peel up the piece of Kapton tape.
 
Disconnect the battery cable from the Moto G4 motherboard.
 
Carefully peel up the black tape.
 
Pry up and remove the Moto G4 lithium-ion 3000 milliampere-hour (mAh) battery.
