Step 1
 
Power down your HTC One A9 smartphone. 

Step 2 (HTC One A9 Nano SIM Card Tray and microSD Card Tray)
 
Eject the Nano SIM card tray and then the microSD card tray.
 
Step 3 (HTC One A9 Display Assembly)
 
Begin to free the HTC One A9 display assembly by using the heat gun to warm up the adhesive.
 
With the precision knife carefully create separation and insert a playing card to start slicing through the adhesive.
 
Take your time and apply additional heat as needed.
 
When attacking the adhesive, be mindful of the capacitive home button and fingerprint sensor.
 
The HTC One A9 screen is still connected to the motherboard. Do not try to remove it completely, or you will damage the data cable connecting the display to the middle of the phone.
 
Remove the following 2 Phillips screws securing the bracket to the motherboard.
 
Remove the HTC One A9 display cable bracket.
 
Use the spudger to disconnect the display cable and remove the HTC One A9 display assembly.
 
Step 4 (HTC One A9 Midframe)
 
Remove the following 8 T5 Torx screws.
 
Use the precision knife and a triangle opening tool to pop the HTC One A9 midframe out of the rear enclosure.
 
Step 5 (HTC One A9 Battery)
 
Spudge up the HTC One A9 battery connector from the motherboard.
 
Peel the 2150 milliampere-hour (mAh) HTC One A9 battery off the adhesive securing it to the phone.
 
Step 6 (HTC One A9 Motherboard)
 
Work through the multitude of cables on the HTC One A9 motherboard.
 
Remove the following 3 T5 Torx screws.
 
Easily decouple the HTC One A9 motherboard from the midframe.
 
Step 7 (HTC One A9 Rear-Facing Camera and Front-Facing Camera)
 
Peel up the tape and disconnect the 13-megapixel HTC One A9 rear-facing camera from the motherboard.
 
Detach and free the 4-megapixel HTC One A9 front-facing camera.
 
Step 8 (HTC One A9 Vibrator, Earpiece Speaker, SIM Card Bay and microSD Card Bay)
 
Extract the HTC One A9 vibrator, earpiece speaker, and the bays for the SIM and microSD cards, from the top of the midframe.
 
Step 9 (HTC One A9 Daughterboard)
 
Disconnect the bevy of cables from the HTC One A9 daughterboard.
 
Remove the following 4 T5 Torx screws.
 
Use the spudger to pry up the daughterboard, but do not remove it entirely just yet. Flip it over to detach the signal cables and completely free it from the phone.
 
Step 10 (HTC One A9 Loudspeaker)
 
With a little spudgering the HTC One A9 loudspeaker can easily be separated from the daughterboard.
 
Step 11 (HTC One A9 Headphone Jack and Capacitive Home Button and Fingerprint Sensor)
 
Use the tweezers to pluck out the HTC One A9 headphone jack.
 
Peel up the HTC One A9 capacitive home button and fingerprint sensor cable and then feed it through the midframe.
