Step 1

Power down your HTC Desire 10 Pro phone.

Step 2 (HTC Desire 10 Pro SIM card and microSD card tray)

Eject the SIM card and microSD Card tray.

Step 3 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Rear Cover)

With the precision knife create enough space to insert a triangle opening tool. Work around the HTC phone and release the clips securing the plastic rear cover in place.

Once the HTC Desire 10 Pro rear panel is dislodged, use the spudger to detach the fingerprint sensor and remove the back cover from the phone.

Step 4 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Exterior Midframe and Fingerprint Sensor)

Remove the following 19 Phillips screws.

Pry up the exterior midframe that protects the HTC Desire 10 Pro motherboard.

Use the tweezers to separate the fingerprint sensor from the exterior midframe and then peel off the piece of tape.

Step 5 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Loudspeaker)

Extract the HTC loudspeaker and antenna module from the bottom of the smartphone.

Step 6 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Battery)

Disconnect the HTC Desire 10 Pro battery from the motherboard.

Locate the pull-to-remove adhesive tab on the bottom of the battery. Slowly pull the tab up and away from the HTC phone to free the 3.85-volt, 3,000 milliampere-hour (mAh) Desire 10 Pro battery.

Step 7 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Motherboard)

Detach the bevy of cables from the HTC Desire 10 Pro motherboard.

Remove the following 2 Phillips screws.

Remove the motherboard from the HTC phone. Be mindful of the vibrator as it is soldered to the board and lightly adhered to the midframe.

Step 8 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Front-Facing Camera and Rear-Facing Camera)

Remove the impressive 13-megapixel HTC Desire 10 Pro front-facing selfie camera.

Extricate the 20-megapixel HTC Desire 10 Pro rear-facing camera from the motherboard.

Step 9 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Headphone Jack and Earpiece Speaker)

Pry the 3.5mm stereo audio jack up from the midframe.

Tweeze the HTC Desire 10 Pro earpiece speaker out of the chassis.

Step 10 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Micro USB Daughterboard)

Disconnect the three cables from the daughterboard.

Spudge the HTC Desire 10 Pro daughterboard up from the midframe. It includes the Micro USB connector, a microphone, spring contacts, and some control hardware.

Step 11 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Power and Volume Buttons Cable)

Carefully remove the fragile power and volume buttons cable from the side of the interior midframe.

Step 12 (HTC Desire 10 Pro Display Assembly)

The FHD, 5.5-inch, HTC Desire 10 Pro display assembly is glued on solidly. Apply heat to soften the adhesive.

Use the precision knife to create enough space to insert a playing card.

Use the playing card to slice through the sticky adhesive. Take your time and apply additional heat as needed.

Once you have sliced through the adhesive, be mindful of the display cable when decoupling the HTC Desire 10 Pro screen from the frame.
