Step 1
Power down your HTC 10 smartphone.
Step 2 (HTC 10 Nano SIM Card Tray and microSD Card Tray)
Eject the Nano SIM card tray and then the microSD card tray.
Step 3 (HTC 10 Display Assembly)
Begin to free the 5.2-inch HTC 10 display assembly by using the heat gun to warm up the adhesive.
With the precision knife carefully create separation and insert a playing card to start slicing through the adhesive.
Take your time and apply additional heat as needed.
When attacking the adhesive, be mindful of the cables for the bottom buttons located next to the capacitive home button.
The HTC 10 screen is still connected to the logic board, so don’t try to remove it entirely just yet.
Step 4 (HTC 10 Midframe)
Remove the following 12 Phillips screws.
Use the precision knife to pop the HTC 10 midframe out of the all-metal rear enclosure.
Step 5 (HTC 10 Display Assembly)
Remove the following 2 Phillips screws.
Spudge up the HTC 10 battery connector from the logic board.
Use the tweezers to start working through the tape, and then pop off the signal cable.
Release the ZIF connector and free the cable for the HTC 10 USB Type-C assembly.
Disconnect the HTC 10 display assembly from the logic board and separate it from the midframe.
Step 6 (HTC 10 Capacitive Home Button and Fingerprint Sensor)
Extract the HTC 10 capacitive home button and fingerprint sensor. If issues develop with the home button, the mild adhesive used will make it an easy fix.
