Soft OLEDs are great as they are built like the iPhones original screen. What makes the soft OLED even better is the fact that its flexible substrate allows for more impact resistance. The downside to soft OLEDs is that they are more expensive, have a shorter service life, and are more prone to burn-in. Burn-in occurs when the display develops areas of discoloration.

Hard OLEDs are created using a glass substrate causing them to be more fragile. This fragility makes it more prone to damage from shock or installation. However, with this design, it also comes in at a lower price than that of soft OLED. The screen is also more resistant to screen burn-in than soft OLED. The hard OLED is also limited by its slightly larger border between the bottom of the display and the bottom of the frame which causes the OLED to not fit as close to the bottom edge as soft OLED.
